Romeny's Way Ahead of Competition

BOSTON --Republican Mitt Romney called for economic sanctions against Iran "at least as severe" as those imposed on South Africa during its apartheid era, in an effort to isolate the Central Asian nation and convince it to give up its pursuit of a nuclear weapon.

Addressing a security conference in Israel, the former Massachusetts governor and potential 2008 presidential contender also urged states to divest in Iran, to seek the indictment of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on genocide charges, while also making it clear that pursuing nuclear weapons "can also be a source of peril" for Iran.

"The military option remains on the table," said a text of the remarks Romney delivered at the seventh annual Herzliya Conference in Herzliya, Israel.
He added: "Arab states must join this effort to prevent a nuclear Iran. These states can do much more than wring their hands and urge America to act. They should support Iraq's nascent government. They can help America focus on Iran by quickly turning down the temperature of the Arab-Israeli conflict -- stopping the financial and weapons flows to Hamas and Hezbollah, thawing relations with Israel and telling the Palestinians they must drop terrorism and recognize Israel's right to exist."

Actually, I liked him ever since he refused to waste the taxpayers money on police escort for the smiling mullah's visit, Khatami, to Harvard, Romney bars state security for Iranian's Harvard visit Cites unacceptable use of funds on `a terrorist'

Mitt Romney's website is by far the most organized and well thought-out and it's updated regularly. If the candidates exploratory committee websites are any indication of their campaign's real understanding of the issues this nation faces, Romney is way ahead of the competition,

The defeat of this radical and violent faction of Islam must be achieved through a combination of American resolve, international effort, and the rejection of violence by moderate, modern, mainstream Muslims. An effective strategy will involve both military and diplomatic actions to support modern Muslim nations. America must help lead a broad-based international coalition that promotes secular education, modern financial and economic policies, international trade, and human rights.
"Romney wants the public to know that Jihadists are not an 'armed group of crazed maniacs in the hills of Afghanistan.' Rather, Romney says the United States is facing a 'far more sinister and broad-based extremist faction' with a 'very 8th century view of the world.'"
