Know Your Enemy!
Two foolish experts who think Jihad can be negotiated, treatied with and bargained with if we only follow the steps articulated in the self-help book "Getting to Yes" by Roger Fisher et al. They are Mr. Mark Brzezinski, a Washington lawyer, served on the National Security Council staff and Ray Takeyh, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.
That our experts have to go to this length to convince themseleves and their audience that if we just master the art of negotiation as prescribed in Mr. Roger's book all will be fine when negotiating with generation of idealogues who were inspired by *Shariati's radical blend of Islam and Marxism attest to our miserable failure in understanding our enemies. Today, many leading American Democrats and Republicans are clueless tragically and dangerously. It still appears to me that they don't know what motivates our enemies; what they are fighting for and what they are trying to achieve strategically. If you can't identify and still don't know what motivates your enemy, how can you defeat or neutralize your enemy either militarily or diplomatically. How can you possibly expect to gain concessions from your enemy and not risk being bamboozled into extortion-extracting tactics of a clever enemy?
If you don't know know what motivates your enemies, you cannot possibly engage in diplomacy and expect to gain anything worthwhile. If you can't defeat his motivation and his will to fight, you might as well surrender.
Westerners no longer think of religion as a reason for war. We think "religious wars" are the stuff of ancient European history from centuries and centuries ago. We are wrong. The Jihad War is fundamentally a religious war. It is religious at the core. It is a war for the conquest of the world by Islam. It is inspired, motivated, driven, by the words of Allah, the words of God Himself. It is a war for the dominance of Islam over all other religions, for the dominance of Islamic culture over all other cultures. It is a war for Islamic supremacy.
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in his speech delivered in Qom in 1980 said:"We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah; For patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land [Iran] burn. I say let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world."
We also have the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khameni, reitrating the same sentiments as Khomeini as recent as last month:
With the victory of the Islamic Revolution they devised new plans so as to depict the Islamic Revolution as a Shi’ite revolution despite the fact the Revolution in Iran is an entirely Islamic Revolution. It is the revolution of the holy Qur’an. It is the revolution that unfurled the banner of Islam. The Islamic Revolution is proud of having Islamic values and spirituality and in introducing Islamic values to the world. It has succeeded in this regard. We achieved success in the face of the plots of all our enmities. The Islamic Revolution revived the spirit of Islamic pride, honour and dignity among Muslims worldwide. They (the colonialists) are afraid of this. But if our revolution was a Shi’ite revolution – as they allege – we should have separated from the Islamic world. In such a case they (the colonialists) would not have anything to fear from us and they would not have practiced hostility against the revolution. But since they know that this Revolution is an Islamic Revolution they bear enmity towards us.
The best for last: "If the Islamic Ummah finds its real weight, then it will be an excellent support for Muslim governments. Governments of Muslim states will not be seeking help from the UK or the US because the Islamic Ummah is behind them."
'Real Weight' to me sounds a lot like, 'once we are wielding the nuclear bomb'...
America, Europe, and the rest of Civilization must say to the face of Jihad -
"You cannot win. We will not let you win. We will do all that is necessary to defend the Western principles of intellectual freedom, religious freedom, political freedom. We will not let Islam be victorious over Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and the freedom to be Agnostic or Atheist, or to follow any other religion. It is not we who must change - it is YOU who must change. Islam must change. Islam must leave the 7th century behind, and emerge into a 21st century of freedom, tolerance, multiculturalism, diversity, and liberal democracy. Islam must learn to accept the legitimacy of other religions and cultures. Islam must learn to live as a Faith that accepts the legitimacy and equality of all other Faiths. Islam must learn to live as a culture that accepts the legitimacy and equality of all other cultures. Until Islam learns this, we, the people of Civilization and freedom, will stand in solidarity against Jihad."
Dr. Jack Wheeler writes of this in The Fragility of Islamofacism (at http://www.tothepointnews.com/) in which he points to mass "frenzies of criminal insanity, like the Gulag Communism of the Soviet Union, the National Socialism of Hitler's Germany, or the barbaric imperialism of Tojo's Japan."
"An entire people like the Germans or Japanese can go criminally, murderously nuts. Such mass criminality has to be ended by whatever means necessary. But once the frenzy is over, the people crazed by it can become normal human beings again . . . Just such a mass criminal insanity has today taken over the minds of a substantial fraction of the world's Muslims . . . the distillation of the very worst aspects of the Islamic religion into an ideology of fascist bullying
and bloodshed."
"The absolute last thing we are involved in here is a 'clash of civilizatoins.' Our civilization is in a fight to the death with a subhuman barbarism. With folks who believe in a Whorehouse Heaven which they can get into by blowing themselves up in order to murder women and children."
"Islamofascism is a frenzy, a mass delusion. What all such mass delusions have in common is an incredibly intense psychological energy that is impervious to reason, reality, and morality."
What happens when America adopts the goals of America’s enemies by its inaction and fear induced self-deception?
*Shariati is one of the two or three foremost Islamic thinkers of last century. Shariati's radical blend of Islam and Marxism electrified a whole generation of Iranian revolutionaries like Ahmadinejad. Yes, communism spiced with radical Islam. An European icon of note, Jean-Paul Sartre said of Shariati: "I have no religion, but if I were to choose one, it would be that of Shariati."
