Sundance Channel: Gilaneh
From Iranian filmmakers Rakhshan Bani-Etemad (NARGESS; OUR TIMES) and Mohsen Abdolvahab comes a searing anti-war film presented in two parts.
On the Iranian New Year of 1988, Gilaneh (Motamed Arya), a woman from the country whose only son Ishmael (Bahram Radan) is fighting in the Iran-Iraq war, takes a perilous trip into besieged Tehran with her pregnant daughter.
Fifteen years later, on March 20, 2003, as another New Year approaches, fatigued Gilaneh cares for her bedridden son as TV newscasts cover America's opening attack on Baghdad.

such brave film maker!LOL
For eight years no one ever said a word against the war when it was happening, when so many Iraqi civilians were being killed by Iranians soldiers of Islam. no one ever said anything about a ceasefire. Now many years later they have decided that war is not ok. the filmmaker really means war against others for the sake of Isalm is good but American war against those who want to use dangerous weapons for destroying the U.S ,as they have stated many times, is not good.
And yes, where was this "brave" filmmaker when Khomeini needlessly extended the war for 6 years to build his Utopian caliphate, Jihading his way through Karbala???? Where was he when young sons, husbands, and brothers were led to the slaughter like innocent lambs by a mass murderer Jihadist like Khomeini??? Think about it, who really benefited by this diabolic extension of war and carnage? Hint: Follow the money!
Thank you A, again for bringing balance to my blog.
Many thanks to Mr. Sunshine
