Happy New Year!


Norooz, commemorating the New Year, has been celebrated in Iran, , throughout nearly three millennia of its recorded history. Norooz begins at the vernal equinox, the first day of spring season, a day of rejuvenation and reconciliation, forgivness of self and others, reinvigorations and rebirth. Norooz's arrival is symbolized in nature by the sprouting of greens and grains, flowers and trees.

NoRooz ( various local pronunciations and spellings)aditional Iranian new year holiday celebrated in Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Georgia, the countries of Central Asia such as Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, as well as among various other Iranian and Turkic people in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, India, Northwestern China, the Caucasus, the Crimea, and the Balkans.

I like the fish on the haftsin because fish stare, you stare and that's supposed to be fun!(just another psycho!)
