UK schools get guide to Islam - A guide to Islam is being given to primary schools across Britain containing a headscarf, a prayer mat, a prayer cap, sacred Ihram clothing worn during the pilgrimage to Makkah, a poster of the Muslim prophets and a compass to locate the direction of Makkah.
Muslim only' pool outrage - A council has sparked fury by virtually shutting a swimming pool on Sunday afternoons for “Muslim-only” sessions. All women are banned — and non-Muslim men may swim IF they follow the strict Islamic dress code of swim shorts that hide the navel and extend below the knee.
These are very disturbing trends. Don't you find it unsettling?

very upsetting, but more the "islam kits" for the schools. If my kid brought crap like that home, I'd throw it in the trash and start browbeating the school (and that goes for any religious kit from a public school).
As for the pool, I have no problem with men's or women's swim hours, but it needs to be announced publicly, and it can't be a "muslim men's swim" or a "Jewish women's swim." Just single gender swim times, for those who won't (for whatever reason) swim in a mixed pool.
