The Arab/Muslim World and Darfur
Don’t have a black skin and come from Darfur
The Organisation of the Islamic Conference, which has 57 member states, is demanding that the UN Human Rights Council reject the latest UN report on Darfur. Why? Because the mission 'did not fulfill its mandate'. Why did it not fulfill its mandate?'. Because Sudan did not grant its members visas. The OIC's continuing defence of Sudan's campaign of genocide goes against the basic tenets of Islam. Read more in today's Times:

I saw that. I usually don't care what they say, but this time the Human Rights are correct. It's about time someone, anyone besides us, stood up to these punks. Good article.
There used to be a time when those that worried about humanity like that and saw that the foreign policy of the Nation supported them but that the Nation, itself had little means, then went ahead and *did* something, not just moan and cry on and on.
If you want something done in Darfur, then the American way is simple: Do It Yourself. That option is *still* available in this grand Republic of the United States. Raise the funds, get trained and just *go*. I will kick a few bucks into the kitty, and a full set of George Orwell... or maybe just a few copies of Homage to Catalonia.
But I guess the days where those wanting the action actually standing by their words and *doing something* are long gone... as is the backing for their feelings, since they will not stand up for what they believe in a meaningful way. I believe that those that want something done would be *surprised* at support across the politcal spectrum from Americans willing to help out on that... so that those with the idealism can put it to the sticking place and show what Americans are made of. Not the military, just good, old fashioned Americans standing up for what is right in a far off land.
I would support and applaud that!
Because that IS how it is done.
Even if it does tend to short one's lifespan... and then we will grieve for your loss in the fight for what is good and right.
For the Nation cares about those who fight for Freedom and honors them in that struggle.
