Author Taslima Nasrin targeted by Islamic Fundamentalists

Asia times: The woman, famous for having denounced the conditions of the female in Islam, suffered a light head wound during a press conference in Andhra Pradesh. Still today there is a ransom of 500 thousand rupees for her beheading. Christian activist strongly condemns the attack.

Hyderabad (AsiaNews) – This morning Taslima Nasrin, a popular writer born in Bangladesh and famous human rights supporter, was wounded during a press conference with journalists in Hyderabad, capital of Andhra Pradesh, as she presented her book.

The assault was carried out by members of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party (MIM), an Islamic movement based in the city: the attackers hit her with bouquets to protest against her criticism of how women are treated under Islamic law. She has received minor injuries on the forehead. It is not the first time that the 45 year old writer, editor and poet Taslima Nasrin, has been the victim of the fundamentalist attacks. Taslima sparked a furore among hardcore Muslim clerics in 1993 when her book "Lajja", (meaning Shame), depicting how Hindu minorities were mistreated in Bangladesh, was published. The Islamist issued a fatwa with a bounty on her head..

The vile mentally disturbed Islamic revolutionaries who choose hate over love, death over life, and destruction over construction push their perverted agenda using violence. They are the wicked, attempting to steal the beliefs of others by force.

They ignore the nature of God which created many kinds of birds, yet they are all birds. The barbarians of Islamic revolution deny humankind the same diversity God gave to birds, fish and flowers. Professing themselves to be wise they act with barbaric ignorance and foolishness.

They are weak, not the strong. They are the ignorant, not the wise and they are the ungodly.

Am I being too hard on them?
