Iraqi refugees flood home

The Improved security in Iraq following the US boots on the ground surge seems to be having a positive knock on affect with a marked increase in the number of Iraqi refugees returning home, according to a report in The Times today.
The paper says that raqi refugees are returning home in dramatic numbers mostly from Syria, but also from Jordan and Egypt, concluding that security in Baghdad has been transformed.
The Iraqi Embassy is organising a secure mass convoy from Damascus to Baghdad on Monday for refugees who want to drive back. Embassy notices went up around the Syrian capital yesterday, offering free bus and train rides home.
In one Syrian district in Damascus, Saida Zaynab, which was home to many of the 1.5m million Iraqi refugees, is almost deserted as the Iraqis return home.
