The video is an interview with Khomeini's most trusted hatchet man, nicknamed the "hanging judge". His real name was Judge Khalkali. "Khalkhali is known to have been one of Khomeini's circle of disciples as far back as 1955[3] and is reported to have reconstructed the former secret society of Islamic assassins known as the Fadayan-e Islam after its suppression.[4], but was not a well-known figure to the public prior to the Islamic Revolution.
On February 24, 1979, however, Khalkhali was chosen by Ayatollah Khomeini to be the Sharia ruler (حاکم شرع in Persian) or head the newly established Revolutionary Courts, and to make Islamic rulings. In the early days of the revolution he sentenced to death "hundreds of former government officials" on charges such as "spreading corruption on earth" and "warring against God."[5] Most of the condemned did not have access to a lawyer or a jury."
The man is an appalling violent monster who casually talks about executing individuals without due process. He basically says, laws and due process are "Western concepts" and "we do not abide by the Western laws. We don't need to find out exactly what happened. We ask them, if they were head of this or that department and if they say "Yes", then we execute them because they have already confessed to being the official or head of this and that....and that is all we need."
He also unequivocally confesses that Islam's interest take precedent over Iran's interest as a nation. Another very interesting thing that is revealed in this interview for the first time, is Khomeini's and Ayatollah Montazeri's inclination to change the Persian Gulf name into Islamic Gulf, which would not sit well with the general public.
In the clip, he also talks about "exporting the Iranian revolution" to the region. He says, "We don't have to do anything, our revolution will inspire other countries in the region, to become Islamic and get rid of their leaders, monarchs" and so on. As we all know, that is not true, the Islamic Republic has done everything possible short of direct confrontation with other regimes and nations to achieve its main foreign policy goal of exporting the revolution: Founding Hizballah, Arming terrorists, Establishing cells/lobbyist and fake Islamic centers throughout the world, assassinating oppositions abroad, issuing death threats to infidels, etc.
This interview was taped 28 years ago and his predictions are not too far off in regards to exporting militant Islam in the ME.
Not Much has changed since Khalkhli. No, that is not entirely true; the IR has American and Iranian lobbyists/Iran-experts/pundits on the Hill
Iran’s judiciary has sentenced to death a Kurdish teacher, Farzad Kamangar, and two other people on charges of being members of the Kurdish Workers’ Party, an armed opposition group that has led an insurgency against Turkey. Mr. Kamangar and those sentenced with him have appealed the verdict. According to Iran’s penal code, armed opposition against the government is punishable by death.

Irony: McCain to urge nations to cut funds to Iran while his top strategist is a hired lobbyist for Iran:
In the summer of 2005, John McCain's chief strategist Charlie Black, working for his firm Black, Kelly, Scruggs & Healey, was paid $60,000 to lobby the U.S. government on behalf of the Chinese oil conglomerate CNOOC. At the time, CNOOC was mounting an aggressive bid to buy Unocal, a California-based oil giant, and Black was tasked with churning up congressional support. But the bid ultimately fell through, in part because of objections over the China oil industry's ties to Iran, a country in which it had already invested tens of millions of dollars.
"We should privatize the sanctions against Iran by launching a worldwide divestment campaign," he said. "As more people, businesses, pension funds, and financial institutions across the world divest from companies doing business with Iran, the radical elite who run that country will become even more unpopular than they are already."
But, as demonstrated by the CNOOC anecdote, if choking off Tehran's economic lifeblood is McCain's goal, he could have personally started down that road years ago -- with his own advisers.
..In 2007, moreover, Obama sponsored an Iran divestment bill that he claimed "would educate investors and pressure foreign companies to reconsider doing business with Iran by requiring the U.S. government to publish - every six months - a list of companies that invest more than $20 million in Iran's energy sector."
It was Alabama Republican Richard Shelby who held up the measure in the Senate in what was described by the Israel paper Haarezt, as "a favor" for the Bush administration. Today, it is still on hold.

China Confidential: Zbigniew Brzezinski has persuaded US Senator and Presidential aspirant Barack Obama that bombing Iran would be a war crime and an impeachable offense.
Brzezinski, who is well known for his animosity toward Israel, may have also influenced Iran's so-called Supreme Leader to threaten President Bush with an international war crimes tribunal over the Iraq war. The threat by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is sure to resonate with radical Left elements in Europe and the US; demonstrations and mock trials modeled after the late Bertrand Russell's propagandistic mock trial of the US over Vietnam can be expected.
Sources say Obama believes Brzezinski, who was the National Security Advisor to President Carter from 1977 to 1981, has made a convincing case that an attack on Iran would be a unilateral, unconstitutional act of war because, in his view, the Islamist regime is several years away from having a nuclear arsenal and is not threatening the US. Bombing Iran without United Nations Security Council approval would make the US a rogue state, Brzezinski told Obama, and subject President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and other US officials and military commanders to an international war crimes tribunal.
Meanwhile, Khamenei said on Friday that Bush had been defeated in the Middle East and would one day stand trial for "atrocities" committed in Iraq.
"I have a firm belief that one day this current US president and the American officials will be tried in a fair international court for the atrocities committed in Iraq," he said in a prayer sermon to mark the onset of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
"They have to be held accountable. The United States cannot ignore its responsibility," Khamenei told worshippers, who punctuated his sermon with shouts of "Death to America".

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Not all the nation's ills can be blamed on President Bush, Democratic candidate Barack Obama said Wednesday as he called on Americans to change the nature of politics and institute more openness in government. "Part of the problem here is not just George Bush and the White House," Obama told a crowd of hundreds gathered at a park in Cedar Falls. "We can't just change political parties and continue to do the same kind of things we've been doing. We can't just go about business as usual and think it's going to turn out differently."
Obama, a senator from Illinois, said average Americans must be brought back to the table when dealing with every issue, from health care to education to trade.
"We've got to make sure workers are represented, not just CEOs. We've got to make sure patients are represented and the nurses are represented, not just drug companies," he said.
To make the government more accountable, Obama said he would post all non-emergency bills online for five days before he signed them into law, allowing Americans a chance to weigh in on the legislation. In addition, he said he would post all meetings between lobbyists and government agencies online.
Obama said he would require Cabinet officials to speak to Americans via national broadband town-hall style meetings to discuss issues at their agencies. He also pledged to issue an executive order that information about the government's operations must be released to those seeking it unless it could harm a protected interest.
