سخنی درباره انتخابات، عباس اميرانتظام
به عنوان قديمی ترين زندانی وجدان و عقيده در ايران، بر اين باور هستم که اگر نافرمانی مدنی به شيوه قابل فهم برای افکار عمومی جهان صورت گيرد مسير دستيابی به حق تعيين سرنوشت را هموارتر خواهد کرد. به همين منظور به نظرم می رسد که علاوه بر حرکت سياسی، يعنی خودداری از مشارکت در انتخابات، می بايست به فعاليت ايجابی نيز مبادرت ورزيد

بيست و نه سال پيش در دفاع از حق تعيين سرنوشت مردم و حق حاکميت دمکراتيک با مجلس خبرگان به مخالفت برخاسته و انحلال آن را مطرح کردم. به باد افره اين گناه بزرگ به حبس ابد و محروميت از کليه حقوق اجتماعی و انسانی و از جمله ديدار فرزندان دلبندم محکوم شدم.

کارنامه سراسر تاريک و خونين حکومت اسلامی که برگ برگ آن انباشه از جنايت، اعدام، شکنجه، فقر، فساد، اعتياد، تحقير، تورم، ريا و فريبکاری است، بزرگترين دليل درستی تشخيص و اقدام در مخالفت با نظام سياسی برآمده از مجلس خبرگان می باشد.

من تشکيل مجلس موسسان منتخب مردم و تصويب قانون اساسی مترقی و دموکراتيک را ضرورت خروج از اين بن بست استبداد و ورود به دنيای آزاد و دمکراتيک می دانم و همچنان معتقد هستم که بدون تشکيل مجلس موسسان شرايط انتخابات آزاد و سالم فراهم نخواهد شد. به همين دليل انتخابات جمهوری اسلامی وسيله ای است برای سرپوش گذاشتن بر چپاول و غارت ثروتهای ملی و مصادره حق تعيين سرنوشت ملی.

انتخابات جمهوری اسلامی ايران، آزادی های مدنی، اجتماعی و سياسی را محدود کرده و در مقابل دامنه‌ی فقر، فساد و اعتياد را گسترش می دهد. در فاصله انتخابات مجلس هفتم تا به امروز قيمت مسکن و مايحتاج معمولی مردم چندين برابر شده و نرخ تورم و بيکاری افزايش يافته و چشم انداز آينده، تاريک و تاريک تر شده است.

در هر ثانيه از حيات مجلس هفتم و مجالس قبلی، هزاران نفر به زير خط فقر سقوط کرده و در دام اعتياد و فساد گرفتار آمده اند. اينهمه، در شرايطی است که قيمت نفت به بالاترين سطح خود رسيده است. بدون شک چپاول‌گران و غارتگران برای تداوم حيات ننگين خود و خلق معجزه هزاره سوم و... خود نيازمند انتخابات نمايشی و نمايش انتخاباتی می باشند. ولی ملت مبارز ايران نشان داده است که از تجربه تاريخی و آگاهی سياسی کافی برای گريز از اين دام ها برخوردار است.

من مطمئن هستم که ملت ايران در برخورد با روز ۲۴ اسفند تصميم شايسته اتخاذ خواهد کرد. عدم شرکت در بازی سياسی حاکميت، يک نافرمانی مدنی و بيان عقيده به شيوه مسالمت آميز می باشد. به عنوان قديمی ترين زندانی وجدان و عقيده در ايران، بر اين باور هستم که اگر نافرمانی مدنی به شيوه قابل فهم برای افکار عمومی جهان صورت گيرد مسير دستيابی به حق تعيين سرنوشت را هموارتر خواهد کرد. به همين منظور به نظرم می رسد که علاوه بر حرکت سياسی، يعنی خودداری از مشارکت در انتخابات، می بايست به فعاليت ايجابی نيز مبادرت ورزيد. همچون صدور اطلاعيه و بيانيه، عدم حضور در مراکز رای گيری، رفتن به مسافرت، تجمع در مراکز تفريحی، ترجيهاً در خارج از شهرها، پوشيدن لباسهای تيره و به طور کلی با استفاده از ابتکارات فردی بايد نافرمانی مدنی را به صورت عينی بازتاب دهيم.

The moderate Iranian Ayatollah Boroujerdi was sentenced to death this week on trumped up charges by the regime. Below is the copy of his letter to pope last year before his brutal arrest by the thugs and criminals of the regime.Ayatollah Boroujerdi's last recorded speech before he and his followers were arrested after heavy clashes. Boroujerdi's speech is not translated word by word but a brief description of what is going on and is said is published along with the full film footage.

Below you’ll find the letter (dated 23rd of September 2006,) of Ayatolah sayyed Hossein Khazemini Borojerdi, who according to himself commands the greatest independent religious constituency (Shiite Islam) in Iran. He writes to Pope about all the problems the so-called Islamic Republic has caused him and his followers, from emotional to physical torture. His father he says has been killed under suspicious circumstances in hospital after being pressured by the regime. Following his death, his mosque in which he’s preached for half a century has been expropriated and his grave site has been demolished and visitors to the cemetery have been arrested and tortured and currently no one can approach the site.

Of himself, a direct descendent of the prophet Mohammad, according to himself, he writes that in the past 14 years he has been under duress by the government, simply because he preaches separation of religion from government. His crime he says, is that he unveils the truth of Islam, which is the message of peace and compassion; his crime is that he offers a reading of Shiite Islam, whose ultimate leader woke his enemy from sleep and offered him a possibility of escape rather than to terrorize him.Now that he is writing this letter, he says, he is on verge of being killed and it has been fifty days that his house has been surrounded by the government and a sentence of execution has been passed on him and his followers, and yet until now he has resisted, yet he expects a final assault on his house to culminate at any moment.His last prayer ceremony, he says, based on evidences from all independent news sources has flooded all the neighboring streets and alleyways. Yet the state news agencies do not report on him and prevent outsiders to investigate the situation. He has appealed to the United Nations and other human rights organizations.He expects these agencies and Pope to expose his plight to the world community.

خدمت عالیجناب پاپ اعظمبا سلام و احترام

اینجانب سید حسین کاظمینی بروجردی صاحب بزرگترین جمعیت مستقل مذهبی ایران هستم که مغضوب حکومت می‏باشم و سالهاست که مورد آزار و اذیت وزارت اطلاعات و دادگاه ویژه روحانیت هستم. دلیل عمده فشارها و حصرها و تنگناهای اجتماعی و تبلیغی و روانی و جسمانی بنده، طرد دین دولتی و ناباوری به دنیاطلبی است. شعار حقیر در طول سالیان متمادی، صلح‏جوئی و خداگرائی و بشردوستی می‏باشد، زندگی ساده من و پدرم که از بزرگان علماي تهران بوده سبب گرایشات عمومی جامعه شده و وسیله‏ای برای تقرب مردم به خدای بزرگ گردیده. پدرم مردم‏دار و تکیه‏گاهی برای گرفتاران و بیچارگان شهر بود که چهارسال قبل به طرز مشکوکی در بیمارستان درگذشت و بلافاصله مسجدش که نیم قرن در آن عبادت الهی می‏کرد مصادره گردید و مزارش که در بیرون مسجد نور ميدان خراسان تهران قرار داشت تخریب شد و زائرانش دستگیر و در زندان شکنجه گردیدند و اكنون نيز متعهد به عدم ورود به آنجا مي‏باشندبنده در طول چهارده سال گذشته همواره مورد خصومت حکومتی قرار گرفته‏ام که مدعی اسلام‏خواهی بوده و از تشیع دم می‏زده اما با یک روحانی سرشناس از سلسله خاندان پیامبر و آلش چنان ضدیتی می‏کرده که به باور دیگران نخواهد آمد. گناه من آنست که نمی‏خواهم دیانت و سیاست را درهم بیامیزم و آخرتم را به قیمت دنیامداری از دست بدهم، جرم نابخشودنی بنده آنست که حقیقت اسلامی را عیان می‏سازم که شعارش مصالحه و مسامحه و تساهل و گذشت است. تشیعی را بازخوانی می‏کنم که پیشوایش، قاتل خود را از خواب بیدارمی‏کند و مجال گریز به او می‏دهد و پس از ارتکاب ترور، سفارش وی را به فرزندانش می‏کند که اگر مورد عفو قرار گیرد برای پدر مضروب و مجروح بهتر استاکنون که برایتان نامه می‏نویسم در آستانه قتل قرار دارم و پنجاه روز است که منزلم در محاصره نیروهای دولتی قرار دارد و حکم تیرباران حقیر و یاران و پیروانم صادر گردیده، ولی به یاری خداوند از تسلیم شدن اجتناب کرده‏ام و مهیای کشته شدن می‏باشم. هر لحظه احتمال حمله پلیس و چماق به دستان حکومتی به خانه‏ام می‏رود در حالی که همسر و فرزندانم کفن پوش و چشم به راه قاتلین هستندعالیجناب پاپ اعظم، آخرین جلسه دعا و نیایش من به گزارش خبرنگاران داخلی و گواهی فیلمها و عکسهای موجود در بزرگترین ورزشگاه سرپوشیده ایران به میادین و خیابانهای اطراف آن رسید و سبب حیرت ملت و غضب دولت گردید. اکنون پیروانم در چنگال ظالمان مدعی اسلام قرار دارند و در شکنجه‏گاه‏های مخوف جان می‏دهند. رسانه‏های جمعی داخلی تحت بایکوت و سانسور شدید وزارت اطلاعات قرار دارند و کلمه‏ای از من نمی‏نویسند و خبرگزاریهای بین‏المللی که به پخش مسائل بنده می‏پردازند با جمع‏آوری ماهواره‏ها در داخل کشور روبرو می‏شوند. فلذا چاره‏ای جز کشاندن این وضع اسفناک به سازمان ملل نبوده و باید از طریق سازمانهای مدافع حقوق بشر مانع ادامه تجاوزات گردیدانتظار می‏رود که دیده‏بانهای حقوق بشر و حافظین صلح برای حمایت از دین آزاد و سنتی مورد تبلیغ من مداخله کرده و از جان بنده و خانواده و یاران و پیروانم محافظت نموده و صدای محصور مرا به جهانیان برسانیدسید

Gatewaypundit has more: The popular Ayatollah who believes in separation of church and state was arrested (Video HERE) in October, 2006 by the regime along with hundreds of his followers who were protesting with him (see above). From 20-200 of his followers were murdered by the regime during his arrest according to reports. The Iranian news service IRNA, posted pictures of his demonstration prior to his arrest and printed some of the slogans shouted by the crowd: "Freedom, freedom - This is our incontrovertible right," and, "[We are] ready for martyrdom according to our traditional religion - that is, Islam that is not political" -(Wiki).As reported at Pajamas Media, Ayatollah Boroujerdi wrote to Ayatollah al-Sistani in Iraq to request help with his case.

Hundreds march in Iran labour protest

TEHRAN (AFP) - Hundreds of Iranians took part on Tuesday in a demonstration in Tehran to mark labour day, accusing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's government of failing to improve their working conditions.

The workers converged on a stadium in central Tehran in the officially sanctioned demonstration to mark May Day but were dispersed by anti-riot police when the march moved out into the street, witnesses said.

"Some 600 workers demonstrated at the exit to the stadium and shouted slogans against the minister of labour," Mohammad Jahromi, the semi-official labour news agency Ilna reported.
"Incapable minister. Resign!", "Government, parliament, stop your slogans and act," and "Death to the oppressors", the protestors shouted, according to the agency.

Scuffles followed when anti-riot police dispersed the demonstration as people moved into the street outside the stadium, just south of Haft-e Tir Square, a major Tehran traffic nexus.
Witnesses told AFP that they hoisted a coffin symbolising their demands which the police then tried to break but the demonstration dispersed without any major clashes.
State television's main afternoon news bulletin also reported that hundreds of people took part in the march and broadcast comments from unnamed workers complaining about their conditions.

"We are pursuing the workers' legal demands. We expect the officials and the government to follow up on our demand," said one, while another fumed: "I have worked for 21 years and am now unemployed, what should I do?"
"This is the workers' situation: no job security, very low wages and numerous problems," said a third man.

Low-earning workers and civil servants in have been especially hard hit by a sharp rise in prices of staple foods and services over the past months.
Ahmadinejad rose to power in elections two years ago on the back of a wave of support from poorer sector of society generated by his promises to make all Iranians benefit from the country's oil wealth.

But the country continues to be dogged by low salaries and unemployment for its overwhelmingly youthful population.

A member of parliament's social commission, Moussal-Reza Servati, said earlier this week that the number of Iranians living under the poverty line had increased by 13 percent to 12 million -- more than one in seven people.

The demonstration came after hundreds of teachers held three protests outside Iran's parliament in April, resulting in the arrest of a dozen education union leaders from Tehran and the central city of Hamedan.

Iran's teachers are due to mark their national day on Wednesday and Ahmadinejad at a ceremony in Tehran called on the education ministry "to remove teachers' problems", state television reported.

Divestment: Will California Take On the Mullahs?

MARCH 28 - Today California will become the first state to decide whether or not it will continue to do business with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The State Assembly will hear proposed legislation (AB-221) by Republican Joel Anderson of El Cajon, and Democrat Jose Solorio of Anaheim that will require state pension funds to divest from companies that do business with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Iranian-American community and many exiled Iranians are supporting this legislation. Several prominent Iranian-American activists have announced they will testify in support of AB-221, and Iranian groups as far away as Sweden and Turkey are backing the measure. Support for the bill has also come from the Prince of Iran, Reza Pahlavi but it is opposed by William Reinsch, Undersecretary of Commerce during the Clinton administration. IRI promoters and apologists like the NIAC are also opposing the legislation. (National Iranian American Council).
The California initiative is the nation’s first, and has inspired similar action in Massachusetts, Maryland, Georgia, Ohio and Missouri.
CBS “60 minutes” stated on January 4, “Just about everyone with a 401(k) pension plan or mutual fund has money invested in companies that are doing business in so-called rogue states”. California’s colossal state pension funds, CalPERS and CalSTRS, have invested about $24 billion in hundreds of companies doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to figures released by private consulting group Conflict Securities.
On a federal level, Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R - FL), and Tom Lantos (D - CA) introduced legislation a few weeks ago that would require all U.S. government pension funds to divest stocks of companies that have invested more than $20 million in the Islamic Republic’s oil and gas sector.

Mullah Apologists Hope to Ban California Legislation Wednesday

I testified in Annapolis, Maryland last week in support of similar legislation for Maryland. As I wrote in a commentary last Friday for Frontpage magazine:

“The pitch is very simple: Do you want your pension fund invested in companies who prop up Iran? There are lots of other places you can invest. Why choose companies helping countries such as Iran whose leaders state publicly they want to destroy America?”

Missouri has adopted a policy to require two state funds to divest from companies that do business with Iran, Sudan, North Korea and Syria. Georgia is also considering such legislation, and a bill will be introduced in Ohio next week.

Missouri State Treasurer Sarah Steelman said she made the decision after learning the state was using BNP Paribas, France's biggest bank, to place its overnight money. It had been named as one of several European banks that lent $1 billion to Iran.

``We kicked them off our broker-dealer list and put in place policies that said we won't do business with companies that do business in Iran,'' she said.

In January, Steelman sent a letter to every state treasurer urging them to consider similar policies. ``This investment strategy provides an opportunity for many of us far from the front lines of the war on terrorism to do our part,'' she wrote.
